The Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships & Foundation Giving reports to the Associate Vice President of Development and coordinates closely with members of the Development team and other Foundation staff.

About the position

The Senior Director will support the fundraising goals of the Foundation with broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising, an understanding of the competitive landscape of fundraising from institutional donors, and the ability to drive all aspects of the gift cycle: to initiate contacts with potential donors; develop appropriate cultivation strategies, including working with volunteers and board members; move potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation; personally make solicitations; and maintain stewardship and reporting contacts with donors. The Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships & Foundation Giving is responsible for implementing the strategic priorities of the Everglades Foundation by establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with foundations and

02/2025 corporations that share the Foundation’s Everglades goals.


Reporting to and working in close collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Development (AVP), the Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships & Foundation Giving will design and execute a comprehensive corporate and foundation development strategy that expands the Foundation’s institutional donor base. The Senior Director actively seeks to deepen current corporate and foundation donor relationships and forge new ones.


Responsibilities


Overall:


• Manage and continue to improve corporate and foundation partnerships to be consistent with the Foundation’s Strategic Plan.

• Develop and implement long and short-term strategies to secure grants, gifts, and sponsorships from institutional donors (corporations, foundations, and associations) in alignment with the strategic goals of the Foundation.

• Plan, lead, and manage development initiatives, coordinate with peers to achieve desired outcomes, track and report progress to senior management.


External:


• Identify and create opportunities to build new and strengthen existing corporate partnerships. Embrace an “on the road” mentality and approach to explore networks beyond “behind-the-desk” online prospect research. Find creative ways to identify and attract grant funding within a competitive grant-seeking environment.

• Conduct prospect research on an array of corporate and foundation donor sources. Develop and maintain a personal prospect pool of corporations and foundations to cultivate, solicit, and steward.

• Develop and maintain key long-term relationships with existing and prospective corporate and foundation donors. Provide exceptional donor relationship management, including managing and ensuring all gift agreement deliverables are met.

• Brief, support, and staff Foundation leadership at donor meetings and events; carry out donor visits individually.


Internal:


• Coordinate with the Foundation’s Communications team to develop and implement communications strategies that effectively support the Foundation’s corporate partnerships , including media outreach, social media content, publications, development collateral, proposals, and briefings for external audiences.

• Coordinate with the Foundation’s Finance team to align proposals and funding agreements with Foundation policies.

• Work closely with and support the Science, Advocacy, and Education teams to develop and implement fundraising strategies that support their goals.

• Proactively provide timely internal updates on foundation and corporate giving.

Requirements

Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree required; CFRE or equivalent a plus.

02/2025

• 7+ years of experience plus proven success fundraising for a mid- to large-sized nonprofit, including demonstrable knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques in achieving fundraising goals, with a particular focus on corporations, foundations, and other organizations.

• Demonstrable success in soliciting and stewarding grants and gifts of $25,000 and above, including multi-year, six- or seven-figure commitments.

• Thorough understanding of and ability to participate in all aspects of the gift cycle.

• Experience and proficiency with fundraising databases and tracking and reporting on progress to management.

• Capability to analyze, monitor, evaluate, and advance strategic development plans.

• Demonstrable experience planning, leading, and managing development projects in a matrixed environment, including coordinating with peers to achieve desired outcomes.

• A passion and enthusiasm for the Everglades and/or the environment.

• Must present the highest level of professionalism and ethics.

Salary

$120,000 – $140,000 commensurate with experience.
