Official Statement by The Everglades Foundation CEO Eric Eikenberg on the passage of WRDA 2022
December 15, 2022 - “The Everglades Foundation applauds the passage of the Water Resources Development Act of 2022. This legislation contains important policy for Everglades restoration, including Congress’ instruction for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to expedite the completion of the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir, the crown-jewel of Everglades restoration. The EAA Reservoir is essential to storing and sending clean freshwater south to protect the coastal estuaries, nourish America’s Everglades and heal Florida Bay. We thank Florida’s Congressional delegation for their leadership and bipartisan support for Everglades restoration and the EAA Reservoir.”
