April Dominguez

Director of Development Services

Development

April joined The Everglades Foundation in 2024 and oversees a wide range of services and systems for the Development team, including gift processing, prospect research, document management, and stewardship efforts to improve efficiency and ensure data integrity. She also generates reports and analytics that allow the department to continue to collaborate and communicate effectively.

Prior to joining the Foundation, April was Senior Director of Annual Philanthropic Giving at the University of Miami. Previously, she held the role of Director of Membership at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, Florida, after serving as Director of Community Outreach at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, also in Miami.

A graduate of the University of Illinois (Urbana/Champaign) with a degree in ornamental horticulture, April began her career in Chicago as a School and Community Garden Coordinator with the Chicago Botanic Garden. She also spent two years as a volunteer with the U.S. Peace Corps in Panama.

In her leisure time, April enjoys reading, quilting, sewing, and spending time with her family.
