Daniel Gil Gonzalez joined The Everglades Foundation in 2025 as Executive Assistant, providing administrative support to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Finance & Operations Officer, and the Director of Board & Executive Operations. He coordinates internal and external meetings, responds to a variety of inquiries, communicates with staff, donors, and Board members, and manages special projects and activities together with the Director of Board & Executive Operations.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Daniel was an Executive Assistant at Florida International University (FIU), where he reported directly to former university president Dr. Mark Rosenberg. He also served as the primary liaison for an advisory board of senior executives from major AI and cyber policy organizations. He facilitated communications, coordinated meetings, and ensured a seamless execution of the advisory board’s activities. Earlier, he was Grassroots Engagement Director with Americans for Prosperity, where he led initiatives to mobilize volunteers, build coalitions, and drive issue-based advocacy campaigns.
Previously, Daniel was Regional Field Director for the campaign of Marco Rubio for U.S. Senate, after serving as District Secretary for the Florida House of Representatives.
Daniel earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and a Master of Arts in International Studies from FIU. He was born and raised in New Jersey and has resided in Miami since 2017.
