Jessica Rodriguez

Digital Media Coordinator

Jessica Rodriguez joined The Everglades Foundation as Digital Media Coordinator in September 2024. Her role encompasses writing, creating, and managing content for the organization’s social media channels and digital newsletters. She also maintains the Foundation’s digital library, manages website updates, and explores creative ways to establish, build, and promote the Foundation’s online presence.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Jessica was Director of Strategic Communications at Friends of the Los Angeles River, where she led digital campaigns, community engagement, and communications for a variety of audiences. Previously, she was a Mass Media Fellow and science reporter for The Dallas Morning News, after serving as Digital Communications Specialist at the International Documentary Association in Los Angeles. Earlier, she served as Research & Outreach Coordinator at the Florida International University (FIU) Steven Cruz Institute for Media, Science and Technology, and Research Development Officer and Science Communication & Outreach Assistant at FIU’s College of Arts, Sciences and Education.

Jessica earned a master’s degree in Environmental Studies, a graduate certificate in Science Communication, and a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from FIU.
