Yezid Acosta

Director of Digital Strategy & Information Technology

Administration

Yezid Acosta is The Everglades Foundation’s first Director of Digital Strategy & Information Technology, a position generously funded by a grant from Knight Foundation. Yezid manages the Foundation's intricate data framework and oversees an IT environment with a focus on enhancing operational efficiency. He leads the organization in leveraging cutting-edge technology to support the research efforts of its science team, while also engaging decision-makers, educators, supporters, and the public in Everglades restoration initiatives.

Yezid is not just a leader, but a team player. His collaboration with partners to develop an innovative mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) shopping experience akin to Apple is a testament to his teamwork skills. Before joining The Everglades Foundation, Yezid held digital and IT leadership positions at organizations including NYC Kids Rise, Rising Ground, I Love Velvet, RFG Global Management, and Nestlé Nespresso. He has a proven track record in creating and managing innovative digital products, such as a VIP shopping experience that integrates RFID chips and robotics, demonstrating his hands-on expertise and ability to deliver results.

Yezid earned Bachelor of Applied Science and Associate of Arts & Science degrees from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, as well as an Associate of Arts & Sciences degree from Berkeley College in New York.
